The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG "Poggio alle Mura" of Castello Banfi is a wine that stands out. As the name suggests, the grapes are those of the terroirs that surround the Castle of Poggio alle Mura, a splendid stronghold on the top of a hill in the southern part of Tuscany. It refines for 5 years, half of which in barriques , which give it an elegance and a finesse of absolute value. Potentially capable of aging many years is a wine already ready to give many satisfactions, a reserve that could be taken as a reference for the type! Pure Sangiovese of a deep red that tends to garnet. Bouqet always evolving and of excellent complexity with notes of plum and cherries that mix with tobacco and balsamic vinegar. In the mouth it is full and soft despite an imposing structure , gentle tannins but not in the power of the long years of aging. Forget it in the cellar and wait for a special occasion, a wine that will be remembered .
