Greppo vineyards of over 10 years of age. The "Riserva" is produced from vineyards of over 25 years of age, but only in exceptional vintages. Exceptional harvest at the Greppo. Cold and rainy spring. June, July and August, hot and dry, with significant changes in temperature and well spaced rains. September cold and dry. Start Harvest on 20 September, with dry and cold course. Healthy, ripe grapes, with large, rich-colored skin. Must rich in sugars, extracts and acidity, with low Ph. Only grapes from our own vineyards were vinified. Uncork and drain the bottles a little, at least 8 hours before tasting. With an intense ruby red color that fades with aging, it has an intense, characteristic, delicate and harmonious aroma, with a slight hint of vanilla and vineyard in bloom. It is a wine with a broad taste, warm and persistent, of great harmony and flavor. In the older Reserves a distinct hint of "goudron" and then of "flint?" Its perfect organoleptic characteristics, the long aging in Slavonian oak barrels and an equally long aging in the bottle make Brunello Biondi Santi a wine of great preservability and longevity. Centenary bottles with perfect wines still rest in the cellars of the estate. An exceptional recurrent appointment is the operation of "Re-topping up" of these precious bottles, according to a Notice and a Regulation, which foresee the presence of witnesses. Burton Anderson has defined Brunello Biondi Santi as a "meditation wine": very persistent, which gives off delicate aromas even when the glass has been emptied. Try it at least once.
