Antonella Corda

Antonella Corda's winery is a young island company from Serdiana, a small town in the hinterland of southern Sardinia, a few kilometers from Cagliari. A viticultural knowledge that has been handed down for 3 generations and that Antonella, belonging to the renowned Argiolas family, inherited, dusted off and then deepened during her studies in agricultural sciences and technologies at the University of Sassari and a specialization in Trentino in management of wine-growing systems. A genuine recipe, which can be defined as a family recipe, as the writings on the labels say "from mother to daughter", based on simple and effective values: passion for work, love for the land and respect for traditions. Once she finished her studies, Antonella did nothing but use these principles to found her estate in recent 2010, right in her homeland. Serdiana is in fact an area particularly suited to agriculture and covered with centuries-old olive groves, cereal fields, flourishing orchards and above all spectacular vineyards. It is the latter that manage to draw all its nuances from these lands, giving typical wines of extreme quality. Antonella Corda, helped by her husband Christian, cultivates the most typical native grapes of this land: Cannonau, Vermentino and Nuragus. He knows well that in order to obtain healthy and pure fruit, it is necessary to start from work in the vineyard, which must be respectful and sustainable, which therefore uses organic fertilizers, natural irrigation and renewable energy. The cultivated lands extend over an area of about 40 hectares, of which 15 are dedicated exclusively to the cultivation of the vine. The vineyard most dear to his grandfather Antonio Argiolas is Mitza Manna, spread over about 6 hectares and located at about 200 meters above sea level on calcareous, sandy and clayey soils, where white grape varieties dominate. Cannonau, on the other hand, grows in the Mitza S'Ollastum vineyard where the soils are of silty and sandy origin, characterized by a large amount of pebbles. In the cellar, modern equipment, steel tanks and new wooden barrels are used. Antonella Corda wines are convincing, smooth, pleasant and decidedly typical. They know of Sardinia and the sea breezes that rise from the Tyrrhenian Sea. Territorial and Mediterranean experiences that strike for their agile and full drink, rich in nuances and aromas.
