Ricci Curbastro

The Ricci Curbastro family owns a historical reality of Franciacorta wine, founded in 1885 in Capriolo. Of ancient origins from Romagna, the family boasts an agricultural tradition dating back to the 13th century and includes, among its ancestors, the illustrious mathematician Gregorio Ricci Curbastro, inventor of absolute differential calculus, on which the modern theory of relativity is based. The Ricci Curbastro winery includes 26 hectares of property divided into 9 plots, an underground winery, an agritourism and an agricultural museum where numerous instruments of the rural tradition are collected, to witness the strong link with the family tradition. In the vineyard, careful and scrupulous agriculture is practiced with environmental sensitivity, aiming at the production of healthy and genuine grapes. The treatments are reduced to a minimum and chemical herbicides are not used, for example: the grass is mown and left along the rows. A biological conversion path has now been inaugurated. A long research work in the cellar has made it possible to minimize the use of sulfur dioxide, thanks to some properties of yeasts. The wine production of the Ricci Curbastro family includes, in addition to an absolute level of award-winning sparkling wines, also different still wines. They are elegant and territorial sparkling wines, always well made, which are confirmed each year as an illuminated certainty.
