Valdicava

The Fattoria Valdicava winery was supplied, in 1953, by Bramante Martini, grandfather of the current owner. Martini was the founder of the Brunello Consortium and began producing the fine wine, starting in 1968. Valdicava currently owns 27 hectares of vineyards, all of Sangiovese grapes, from which the Brunello Valdicava, a Brunello Riserva and a Rosso di Montalcino are produced. The Madonna del Piano vineyard is one of the oldest and most important crus in the Montalcino area.
