Tenuta Di Guado Al Tasso Matarocchio 2015

The Matarocchio Tenuta Guado al Tasso is produced on the coast of the Alta Maremma, a hundred kilometers south-west of Florence, on a splendid plain surrounded by hills known as the "Bolgheri amphitheater" due to its particular conformation. The grapes are harvested by hand and, after a careful selection of the grain by grain, a soft pressing and a cold pre-maceration are performed, followed by the start of the alcoholic fermentation. The wine is then transferred to new French oak barrels, where it completes the malolactic fermentation and matures for a further 18 months. At the end of the refinement and after careful tasting, the best barriques are selected and combined to create Matarocchio. The wine rests for the next 12 months in the bottle before leaving the market.
