Molise
Molise is a region of central Italy, born from the detachment from Abruzzo in 1963. The territory is divided between mountain (55%) and hill (45%), to the northeast the region has a short coastal stretch on the Adriatic Sea .
The highest point is reached in the Meta Mountains (2.242 m.) On the border with Abruzzo and Lazio, even if the summit of Monte Meta is just beyond the regional border, but in Molise with secondary peaks the height is exceeded. of Monte Miletto (2,050 meters), on the border with Calabria; the most important rivers are the Biferno and the Trigno that flow into the Adriatic and have the torrential regime and the Volturno, whose initial part flows in the Molise territory.
