Umbria

Umbria

Umbria is located in central Italy and is the only peninsular region of our country that is landlocked. The territory is mostly made up of hilly areas (71%), the remaining part is mountainous.

On the eastern end is the highest peak, Monte Vettore (2,448 meters). The region is rich in water and the Tiber, the third Italian river, crosses it from north to south, its tributaries also numerous; the Nera flows in the southern part. Finally, mention should be made of the Trasimeno, the fourth largest national lake, located entirely in the Umbrian territory.
