Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2008

The dress is bright, of a sparkling gold color with amber reflections. Effervescence is abundant. The fine and light perlage creates arabesques with grace and slowness. On the nose, it reveals a first defined mineral texture, a fruity aroma of great nobility (white peach, bergamot) and a remarkable intensity. Once agitated, the bouquet becomes greedy and voluptuous, with notes of brioche, nougat, apricot, vanilla, frangipani and jasmine. In the mouth it is very full bodied. The texture is crisp and silky. The minerality of the plaster resounds majestically with this fleshy structure and amplifies the persistence of the length. The combination of Verzenay / Avize (the two Crus dominant in this assemblage of the 8 Grand Cru) takes on its whole identity. The finish is fresh and generous, and suggests a discreet dosage that does not disturb the natural balance of the wine.
