Montessu is one of the leading products of the Agripunica company, located in south-western Sardinia. The area of Basso Sulcis has a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and mild winters, perfect for the cultivation of these vineyards, carried out with spurred cordon. Montessu comes from the combination of different grapes: Carignano 60%, Cabernet-Franc, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah all at 10%. The presence of Carignano has allowed the label to bear IGT recognition. The must obtained during the September harvest is subjected to continuous pumping over, ready for the refinement phase in French oak barrels. The Montessu Agripunica , before finding it for sale at a special price on Wine Must, rests for 15 months and then ages in the cellar for another 12 months. It has an intense ruby red color, with iridescent nuances in the years with longer aging. The aroma of myrtle and sage is combined with sour cherries, canned cherries, sour cherries and licorice, which will also be felt on the palate. The structure is well balanced between sapid and mineral. Recommended for the whole meal, it is paired with meat and game dishes but also with pasta with meat sauce and aged cheeses. The recommended temperature is between 16 and 18 ° C, with an hour's settling. Versatile wine to be enjoyed in a medium-bodied glass.
