Friuli Venezia Giulia
Friuli-Venezia Giulia is located in the northeastern part of Italy and was established in 1948 with the aggregation of Friuli and Venezia Giulia; since 1964 it is a region with a special statute. The territory is mountainous at 43%, flat at 38%, hilly at 19%.
The highest peak is Mount Coglians (2,780 meters), the entire northern part is occupied by the Alps and the Pre-Alps. The southern area, on the Adriatic Sea, is instead occupied by the Po Valley; the Tagliamento is the main waterway, together with the Isonzo.
