Vintage. The symbol of the great Millesimati. La Cuvée The first Veuve Clicquot Vintage was born in 1810, followed by the exceptional vintage of 1811, "the year of the Comet", which contributed to the fame of the Maison at the court of Alexander I, Tsar of all Russia. The Vintage is elaborated from the harvest of grapes of a single year; its power, conferred by the predominance of Pinot Noir, is softened by the elegance of the Chardonnay. The choice of the origin of the grapes is fundamental: only 17 "Cru", exclusively defined Grand and Premier Cru, of the Montagne de Reims, from the Grande Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs, can enter the composition of the Cuvée. The Tasting Vintage 2004 has a light golden color. The appearance is brilliant, the effervescence lively and persistent. The nose is very open, pure and complex. Aerated, the bouquet reveals accords with yellow pulp fruits and brioche. Soon a hint of delicate spices, elegant notes of licorice and fine tea is emerging. At the mouth, the wine is ample and generous. The expectations given by the perfume are confirmed, even enhanced thanks to a marked complexity: they reveal, in fact, fruity and floral, mineral and spicy, mentholated and roasted notes ... A vintage of great elegance, already extraordinarily balanced today, which will continue to enchant the palate for at least 15 years. Ideal to combine with a sea bass tartare, turbot boiled on a bed of fresh pasta, a cream of Bresse chicken with candied citrus fruits. Fans will also appreciate it as an aperitif for special occasions.
